It was a busy week for Apple and its CEO as the company opened its first two stores in India. Tim Cook inaugurated both the stores — Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in New Delhi.
Cook was on a whirlwind of a tour and met a host of dignitaries in the country. One of them was Bharti Airtel CEO Sunil Bharti Mittal.
Airtel in a statement confirmed the hour long meeting on April 21 in New Delhi. “While expressing their satisfaction on the ongoing long relationship that Apple and Airtel have had, reaffirmed their commitment to work more closely in the Indian and African market,” Airtel said in a statement.

At Apple, our mission is to enrich lives and empower people around the world,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “India has such a beautiful culture and an incredible energy, and we’re excited to build on our long-standing history — supporting our customers, investing in local communities, and working together to build a better future with innovations that serve humanity.”
Cook also met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a few other cabinet ministers.
The Apple CEO also interacted with local artists, musicians and even squeezed in quick visit to watch an IPL match. He also interacted with top badminton player Saina Nehwal and coach P Gopichand.
