Xiaomi: Xiaomi 13 Ultra may launch globally in May

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi recently unveiled its latest flagship smartphone series for the global market. The Xiaomi 13 lineup which currently includes two phones — the vanilla Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphones are already available in the company’s domestic market, China. The company recently unveiled the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro for the global markets at MWC 2023 which was held in Barcelona. The company also confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 Pro will be the only smartphone to arrive in the Indian market.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra model is still under development. In 2022, the company confirmed that just like the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be sold globally. To compare, last year’s Xiaomi 12S Ultra remained a China-exclusive smartphone. However, a tipster named SnoppyTech has shared a tweet (spotted by Notebookcheck.net) to reveal the expected launch date of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra: Expected launch date
As per the report, Xiaomi is likely to debut the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in May. The company is expected to launch the most expensive smartphone in its latest flagship series alongside the Xiaomi Pad 6 lineup. The report also mentions that the tablets in the Xiaomi Pad 6 lineup are currently not ready to be released in March or April. This means the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and Xiaomi Pad 6 series are expected to arrive by the end of May.
Xiaomi 13 Pro is priced at Rs 79,999 and is available on the e-commerce site Amazon. The upcoming Xiaomi 13 Ultra will have a higher price tag than the Pro variant. However, the company hasn’t confirmed if the Ultra model of the Xiaomi 13 series will arrive in India.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra: Expected specs
The company hasn’t shared many details about the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The upcoming smartphone is expected to feature improved zoom cameras along with the one-inch primary sensor which is also available in the Pro model. Just like the Xiaomi 13 Pro, the Ultra variant is also likely to come powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Xiaomi 13 Ultra is also rumoured to sport a an E6 AMOLED display which may support a 120 Hz refresh rate and a WHD+ resolution.
