Xiaomi is set to announce its flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra at an event in China on April 18. The Chinese smartphone maker has recently shared a new post on Weibo to confirm the arrival of a new fitness tracker. The upcoming Xiaomi Smart Band 8 will also debut at the same event. Details related to the price and availability of the Xiaomi Band 8 are expected to be revealed during the launch event. Here’s what we know about the fitness tracker so far:
Xiaomi Band 8: What to expect
The Weibo poster reveals that just like its predecessor, the Xiaomi Band 7, the upcoming fitness tracker will also sport a pill-shaped AMOLED display. According to a report by GizmoChina, the company is expected to upgrade the strap mechanism on Xiaomi Band 8 to offer a more secure and comfortable design. The strap is also likely to connect to the device on each side. Meanwhile, the band is also likely to arrive in multiple colour variants.
Another Weibo post claims that the Xiaomi Band 8 will also come with a “necklace” accessory. This will allow users to wear the smart band as a necklace. Users will also be able to wear the smart band with bracelets.

The upcoming smart band is also expected to support activity-tracking functions like — heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen measurement, sleep tracking, and stress monitoring. Xiaomi Band 8 may also arrive with NFC and voice assistant features.
Xiaomi Band 7: Key specs and features
The Xiaomi Band 7 sports a 1.62-inch AMOLED display that supports a resolution of 490 x 192 pixels and a peak brightness of 500 nits. It has a battery capacity was 180mAh which offers a battery life of up to 14 days.
Additionally, the smart band also features a 6-axis sensor and a PPG heart rate sensor. It also supports over 110 fitness modes and other features like VO2 max, training effect, training load, recovery duration, sleep-breathing quality tracking, and female health tracking.
